The Village Clerk is the keeper of the seal and records of the Village. The Clerk acts as secretary of the governing body preparing meeting agendas at the discretion of the Board. The Clerk is present at all Board meetings and at these meetings, she must keep a journal of the proceedings, retaining the original copies of all ordinances and resolutions and records of the minutes.
The Village Board has designated the Village Clerk as the Freedom of Information Officer. The Village Clerk serves as the chief administrative officer in all elections held in the municipality, subject to the revised Statutes. The Village Clerk also serves the Board and Village Administrator.
The Municipal Clerk's duties are diversified but most importantly the Clerk is there to address all residents concerns.
