CodeRED Emergency Telephone Notification System
Kane County has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Telephone Notification System which is an ultra high-speed telephone communications service for emergency notification which allows local officials to telephone targeted areas of a municipality or the entire County in case an emergency situation requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices) occurs.
The system is capable of dialing 50,000 phone numbers per hour. It then delivers a recorded message, making three attempts to connect to any number.
This system allows anyone within Kane County to update their residential or business information, including cellular telephone numbers, to be included in important call notifications.
If you have an unlisted telephone number or want to receive notification via your cellular telephone you can enter that number into the database.
To access the database, please log onto the County's Office of Emergency Mangement's website at http://www.kcoem.org/. There is a link to the CodeRED residential database collection form as well as the CodeRED business data collection form. For more information, call the Office of Emergency Management at 630-232-5985.
