Citizens Police Academy
The Police Department is currently accepting applications for the next Citizens Police Academy class. The Citizens Police Academy is a ten-week program (including graduation) designed to give the public a working knowledge of the Gilberts Police Department. The class consists of ten consecutive Thursday night classes at the Gilberts Police Department beginning May 12th and running through July 14th from 6:30-9:30pm.
The class is limited to the first 15 residents or employees of the Village that are 18 years of age or older. Some of the topics covered include use of force, evidence, and department weapons. Participants will also be offered the opportunity to ride with an Officer on a selected shift.
